The Federation of Brunei Malay Entrepreneurs (PPPMB) hosted a talk session themed ‘Malay Business Going Global’ at the Baiduri Enterprise Hub recently. The event aimed to inspire and equip PPPMB members with the knowledge and strategies to expand their businesses into international markets.

The session featured three prominent entrepreneurs: Aimi Ramlee, Haji Ismadey and Loqman Hamdan. Each panelist shared their valuable experiences and insights on navigating the challenges and opportunities of global business expansion.

Aimi Ramlee emphasised the importance of leveraging technology for business growth and highlighted strategies for building strong international networks. Haji Ismadey shared his success story of expanding his tea franchise across borders, while Loqman Hamdan inspired the audience with his innovative approach to online education and niche market development. Baiduri Bank Head of Business Banking Mohammad Isa Liew Mohd Amin Liew said, “Supporting local entrepreneurs in expanding globally strengthens Brunei’s economy as a whole. When businesses grow beyond our borders, they not only create new opportunities for themselves but also elevate Brunei’s presence on the international stage. Baiduri Bank aims to provide support for local businesses in terms of growth, both within Brunei and beyond.”

A moderated discussion and Q&A session allowed the attendees to engage directly with the panelists, gaining practical advice and addressing key concerns related to global expansion. The event concluded with closing remarks from PPPMB’s Deputy President of Economic Md Rizan Abd Latif who reiterated the organisation’s commitment to supporting its members in their international business ventures.
